The starting point for moderation at Commonplace is with our Acceptable Use Policy, which sets out our expectations users and respondents on the platform.
We also recommend that you read our article about user verification and GamingAI.
Alongside GamingAI, we've developed our own ModerationAI solution to monitor and act on free text comments that are considered abusive, profane or unnecessarily revealing a person's identity.
When a free text answer is submitted on Commonplace, it is instantly sent for moderation. The vast majority of answers are automatically accepted and published. Those which are not accepted will be flagged and queued for manual review. Manual review will take place during UK office hours to check and take action on any flagged answers.
After manual review, the answers will either be:
Approved and published
Removed
Edited, replacing abusive language with *****
Notifications are not sent to either respondents or customer users about the status of their comment after it was flagged. If a respondent or customer user clicks into the platform to view their response they will see that it is awaiting moderation.
If you have identified a comment that you feel is inappropriate, please do let us know. Language changes frequently and we are always working to improve the ModerationAI algorithm.
